Production Information and Parental Consent
Please keep reading for all the important information you need for the show and complete the form below to consent to you or you son/daughter performing in the production.
Additional Rehearsals
There will be 2 rehearsals prior to the show to plot the first act and the second act before we perform on stage. These will take place in the auxiliary hall at Catmose on Sunday 28th November and Sunday 5th December from 11am to 2pm. Groups that will be needed for each date are as follows:-
Sunday 28th November – ACT ONE
Year 1/2 Street Dance (Tuesday Group), Primary Contemporary, Musical Theatre Class, Adults Contemporary, Dad’s, Year 10/11 Contemporary, Adults Street Dance, Year 9 Street
Sunday 5th December – ACT TWO
Popvox, All Stars, Year 3/4 Street Dance, Year 5/6 Street Dance, Year 7-9 Contemporary, RYDC 16+, Year 7/8 Street, Year 10/11 Street.
PLEASE NOTE – As this rehearsal falls over lunch time, please bring a packed lunch. There will be time to eat during rehearsal.
Show Day
Our whole cast will be involved in BOTH PERFORMNACES on Sunday 12th December.
Performers need to arrive at the venue 30 minutes prior to each performance taking place. Dancer under 16 will be met by their chaperone on Broad street outside Barclays bank at 1pm and 5pm and enter the Theatre via the stage door.
After each show, students will be released to a parent or guardian from the stage door in age order (year 1/2 first etc). The stage door is located around the back of the Theatre. If you stand looking at the Theatre building head to the right. Silver Lane is between Willoughby’s Bar and Barclays Bank, turn left down there and left again at the sweet shop!
Costumes
Costumes for each group are as follows:-
Step 2 It – Christmas Jumpers and black bottoms
Year 1/2 Street – Own Elf outfit (can be bought or and red any green clothing)
Primary Contemporary – Any combination of blue clothing
Musical Theatre Class – Own Elf outfit (can be bought or and red any green clothing)
Adults Contemporary – Any combination of white and blue clothing, an extra out door layer to add on top – city folk
Dad’s – White shirt, black tie, black trouser, black shoes
Year 10/11 Contemporary – Christmas dresses, santa hats, nude tights!
Adults Street – Red dresses with trim, black leggings, black boots
Year 9 Street – Any combination of glittery, sequined, sparky clothing
Popvox – Onsies, dressing gowns and towel turban AND christmas jumpers and jeans
All Stars – Any combination of blue Denim, add black if needed
Year 3/4 Street – Team One (Maya, Violet, Alice H) christmas jumpers, black bottoms, Team two (Grace, Alice PS, Sophia, Bella, Florence, Hazel-Mae) Any combination of blue Denim, add black if needed
Year 5/6 Street – Grey trousers, white long sleeved shirt, black bowtie, black shoes or trainers, christmas accessory ie deely boppers, santa hat, antlers etc
Year 7-9 Contemporary – Any combination of ‘office’ type clothing, trousers, blazers, shirts, ties, waistcoat, geek glasses etc.
RYDC – Streetwear, white, grey, black, blue
Year 7/8 Street – Black leggings, I will be providing army shirts and black caps at a cost of £12
Year 10/11 Street – Christmas jumpers, red joggers
ALL – Everyone will need a christmas jumper for the finale!
BUDDY – Anyone playing Buddy, I have costumes for, you will need your own green bottoms, leggings or joggers
SANTA, WALTER AND BROTHER – Those dancers that have been given these roles please talk to your teacher or email sarah@rutlanddance.co.uk if you are unsure what to wear.
We aim to make our production as eco conscious as possible. I encourage you to use items you already have or shop second hand for your costumes where possible. If your costume does have a charge this fee should be transferred to RYDA | 40-35-21 | 51437453 and will be yours to keep following the show!
