RYDA at Spotlight 2026

For our 13th year, we will once again be running 2 separate shows for Community dance groups from around Rutland. Both of these shows will be taking place on Sunday 22nd March! Please see timings and group involved below…

Event Details

Each show will have 1 performance only

There will be two evening shows BOTH on Sunday 22nd March

SHOW ONE  – 5pm

SHOW TWO – 7.30pm

RYDA groups will be performing in each of these community shows as follows:-

SHOW ONE
Step 2 It, Advanced street dance (16+), RYDA Small Stars, RYDA All Stars

SHOW TWO
Adults Street Dance, Adults Contemporary, Dad’s That Dance, Adults Combined Dance

Times for Rehearsal

The dress rehearsals will be as follows:

Show 2 – Sunday 22nd March – 10-1pm

Show 1 – Sunday 22nd March – 1-4pm

During this time, each group will have the opportunity to perform their piece on stage and discuss with the lighting and sound technicians any specific arrangements they wish for their performance.

Itinerary

On arrival to the theatre, all dancers and staff are to sit in the audience. Each group will then perform their dance. Whilst a group is performing, all other schools will remain in the audience so they have the opportunity to view the performances.

Once all groups have completed their pieces, the finale will be organised (if appropriate) that involves all performers. On completion of this, if we have time, we will do a final run through of the show so performers can practice moving from their changing room to the stage etc.

Transport & Drop off/Collection Procedures

Show One
All dancers will meet a chaperone from RYDA at our meeting point – outside the old Barclays Bank at the top of Silver Lane on Broad Street. Drop off for rehearsal and collection following the performance will be at this same location.

For the rehearsal you will need to arrive at 12.50pm and will stay until the end of the show! There will be a short break from 4pm to 4.30pm for dancers to go back stage, eat and get show ready! Please bring a packed tea with you to keep you going until the end of the show!

Dancers should be collected following the performance at 6.45pm

Show Two
All performers will be responsible for their own transport to and from the dress rehearsal. Performers can make their way to the stage door on arrival for the dress rehearsal at 10am. Dancers should then return to the theatre for 6.50-7pm to get show ready! We will be running a performance before hand so please don’t enter the back stage door until we have cleared out the cast from Show One!
