COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT DANCE SHOW 24
For our 20th anniversary year, we will once again be running 2 separate shows for Community dance groups from around Rutland. Both of these shows will now be taking place on Sunday 24th March! We had a situation where none of our other dance schools were able to perform on the Monday evening leaving just our students from RYDA. We want all RYDA students to be part of a exciting showcase with all the other dance schools not to be performing alone and have a lesser experience so therefore we will be running two shows on Sunday 24th March. Please see below for how this affects timings etc.
Looking for Photos and Testimonials…
We want to put together a truly memorable show and accompanying programme to match this years big celebration. For this to happen we’d really like your input! If you or someone you know has been involved in a Spotlight show over the years, we are looking for photos, testimonials and written memories of your Spotlight experience from past performers and staff! Please could you spread the word far and wide to start the search for photos from previous shows that might make it into our Anniversary Programme or even be seen on-screen… All we ask is for photos and any memories or testimonials you’d like to share to be uploaded via the Spotlight website – www.spotlightdance.org.uk. It can be done in seconds but will add so much value to this years celebration!

Times for Rehearsal
The dress rehearsals will be as follows:

Show 1 – Sunday 24th March – 1-4pm
During this time, each group will have the opportunity to perform their piece on stage and discuss with the lighting and sound technicians any specific arrangements they wish for their performance.
Itinerary
On arrival to the theatre, all dancers and staff are to sit in the audience. Each group will then perform their dance. Whilst a group is performing, all other schools will remain in the audience so they have the opportunity to view the performances.
Once all groups have completed their pieces, the finale will be organised (if appropriate) that involves all performers. On completion of this, if we have time, we will do a final run through of the show so performers can practice moving from their changing room to the stage etc.
Transport & Drop off/Collection Procedures
Show One
All performers will be responsible for their own transport to and from the dress rehearsal. Performers can make their way to the stage door on arrival for the dress rehearsals. There will be a break from 4pm to 5pm for dancers to go back stage and get show ready! Please bring food with you to keep you going until the end of the show!
Show Two
All dancers will meet a chaperone from RYDA at our meeting point – outside Barclays Bank and Willoughby’s on Broad Street. Drop off and collection for both the rehearsal and performance will be at this same location. For the evening show you will need to arrive at 7pm for the show to start at 7.30pm.
