Production Information and Parental Consent
Please keep reading for all the important information you need for our production this term including show fee purchase and costumes!
Show Fee Explained
This year, there will be a small Show Fee of £10 per dancer to help support the ever growing costs of theatre hire and preparations that go into creating our annual theatre performance.
This contribution will help cover essential behind-the-scenes elements such as administration, music editing, script writing, costume organisation, collection, rehearsal time and more. This small fee allows us to continue offering a high-quality, well-organised show experience for our dancers and their families — something we’re really proud of.
Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support in making our performances truly special.
Please make sure you purchase the SHOW FEE product at the bottom of this page. This will also act as consent for you or your dancer taking part in the show!
Additional Rehearsals
There will be an extra rehearsal for all of our dancers prior to the performance to plot the first act and the second act before we perform on stage. This will take place at Uppingham Community College on Sunday 22nd November.
We will rehearse the first half of the show from 10.30am to 1.30pm and the second half of the show from 2 to 4.30pm. Groups are needed as follows:-
ACT ONE – 10.30am to 1.30pm
ACT TWO – 2pm to 4.30pm

PLEASE NOTE – If dancers are in both halves of the show they will need to attend both rehearsal. Dancers are welcome to stay in between these rehearsals. For act one dancers, please bring a packed lunch and a drink to see them/you through!
What to Wear for the Rehearsal
Please can everyone wear their RYDA T-shirt with black bottoms if they have one. If you don’t have a RYDA T-shirt, no problem! Just come dressed in our academy colours of RED, BLACK and WHITE.
How to Find Us…
We will be in the drama studio at UCC for our rehearsal. Once you pull off the main road to head to the school there is a layby and a set of big green gates. The drama studio is just behind these gates that we will also use to come in and out of the site. There will be a RYDA banner to help you to navigate to this spot!
Show Day
Our whole cast will be involved in BOTH PERFORMANCES on Sunday 29th November.
Performers need to arrive at the venue no later than 45 minutes prior to each performance taking place.
Meeting Places
Dancers in year 2 and under should be dropped off and collected from the stage door. You will find this by going down Silver Lane and turning down the alleyway opposite the sweet shop.
All other dancers under 16 will be met by a designated RYDA chaperone on Broad street outside Barclays bank no later than 12.45pm and 5.15pm and enter the Theatre via the stage door.
The stage door is around the back of the building but it’s a really tight alleyway and not safe or practical to have lots of people moving through that area. Therefore, after each show, students will be released to a parent or guardian back at the same meeting point as above.

Costumes
This year, we are keeping things more simple for our costumes and colour palette. The majority of our dancers will be wearing one of the team colours, either RED, or BLUE.
We are asking you mostly to source your own costumes. There is a costume description for each group below. Please don’t feel the need to spend a lot of money rather beg, borrow, swap what you have to keep spending down and share our resources. If you can not find something suitable, please get in touch and we will help out!
That being said, remember these are costumes for stage so think big characters, and team together pieces you wouldn’t day to day! There is also an image gallery below for inspiration…
Some costumes will be organised for you and these may incur a small cost. Where this is the case, costume fees listed should be paid to the RYDA account

Dress Rehearsals – Week Beginning 23rd November
During our regular classes in the week beginning Monday 23rd November, we’ll be holding dress rehearsals ahead of the show!
This is our chance to see everyone in their costumes, make any final adjustments and ensure we’re all ready for the big day.
Please make sure that:
- Your dancer’s full costume is sourced, compiled and ready to wear for their class that week.
- Any outstanding costume fee has been paid.
- Your dancer brings everything they need for their costume, including appropriate footwear and accessories.
Having everything ready for dress rehearsal week will make our final preparations so much smoother. Thank you!

If you are not sure whether your dancer is on the East side (red) or West side (blue) please get your child to check with their teacher in classes this week!
Shades – The reds and blues can be any shade. Burgundy is ok too. Blues we’d prefer stronger not too pale but really anything goes! You can also add small punches of black and white into these colour schemes
