The Flyest Showman - Costumes

Please find below costume guidelines and following that a costume list for each of our groups. There are a couple extra bits that dancers need to bring along and also details about hair and shoes.

Costume Guidelines

Whole Cast Rehearsal โ€” Sunday 30th November

Please ensure all dancers arrive wearing their RYDA t-shirts and hoodies or company colours where possible (black, white, and red).
Hired costumes will be given out during this rehearsal. Each dancer will receive their costume in a labelled costume bag with their name on it.
Unless they are being worn for a rehearsal or a performance costumes must remain in their bags until after the second show!

You can find a reminder of who is needed for the morning and afternoon rehearsals on Sunday 30th here:

Dress Rehearsal โ€” Week Beginning 1st December

We will be practising all routines in costume during rehearsals this week.
All dancers should arrive in normal rehearsal wear and bring their costume in its bag.
Please do not arrive wearing costumes โ€” dancers will change in and out of them during the session.

Show Day

Dancers should arrive wearing comfortable clothing that is easy to change in and out of (joggers and sweatshirts are ideal), with costumes kept safely in their labelled bags.
Dancers will change into costumes upon arrival in their dressing rooms.
At the end of Show 1, dancers will carefully change out of their costumes and place them neatly backstage ready for Show 2.
After the second performance, all costumes must be handed back to your child’s chaperone in their dressing room.
No costumes should be taken home โ€” all items are due for return on Monday 8th December.

A Note About Costume Care

Our costumes this year are impressive, exciting, and guaranteed to make every dancer look a million dollars. As these costumes are hired, it is essential that they are handled carefully and respectfully.
Please be aware that any damage may incur a charge.
Make sure dancers follow all guidelines and arrive with everything they need when they need it.
If you have any difficulties sourcing tights, shoes, or additional items, please get in touch – sarah@rutlanddance.co.uk
